Every one of us wants our lives to be flawless. When we dream, we dream about perfection. A perfect life, perfect friends, perfect job, perfect house, perfect everything.
But will that flawless life really make you happy? Think again.
In fact, our strongest emotions, trust, empathy, and love are not perfect. They all have their unique flaws. They all live their own flaws and mistakes which makes your life unique.
Go and ask a person who is happy with his or her life, what do they have to say about a perfect life.
The happiest people don’t look for perfection in their life. They don’t want their life to be flawless. They don’t dream of a world where everything is bigger and better. Instead, they fall in love with those tiny flaws around them, which make their life unique.
Just imagine your dream house, what do you see? Do you see a large and spacious mansion shining from top to bottom? Do you see a movie theatre, a large pool, a large backyard?
There’s nothing wrong with this dream. The problem lies when you start complaining about each imperfection around you.
You see, those living in such great mansions have their own set of problems, i.e., the imperfections that make them feel bad.
A vision is just an idea, flaws remain there too, even in your dream house. In reality, every house you see around has its own set of imperfections. Every room of a house can be more spacious, every pool can be deeper, and every backyard can be bigger.
If you’ll always be pointing out the imperfections, complaining about the mistakes in your life, you’ll never be satisfied with what you have.
Here too, I am not trying to stop you from dreaming big, I just want you to take some time, and try to figure out the good deeds that are getting possible in your life, and appreciate them, some of them may even be due to those imperfections that you criticize continuously.
So don’t idealize the perfect life that you have in your head. You can not just imagine everything in your head. Implementing them on the ground level may leave some flaws that you haven’t thought about in your head.
Instead of criticizing the imperfections in your life, try to appreciate them. You may definitely find something to appreciate, and can even stay glad for it for a lifetime. Try to find the accidents, the mistakes, the failures that made your life different from others, and more importantly, better for you.
In your house, your door handle maybe a little bit loose, maybe ceiling is too low, though they all are temporary, but guess what, those imperfections are the ones that turns a house into a room.
In any aspect of your life, you don’t need it to be perfect, sometimes you may find the most exhilarating moment of your life in some the most imperfect part of your life.
Amazing
